I hate the word frumpy but it’s a GREAT word for describing a “look.” Most women picture a woman dressed in oversized clothing, outdated hairstyles and little to no makeup.
That picture in our minds isn’t a look, it’s an ENERGY. Frumpiness is lack of energy and motivation. Being dressed in oversized clothes and looking like she could care less is her style.
Is a good style? That’s up to her to decide!
If she FEELS frumpy and doesn’t like feeling that way, that’s when something needs to change.
Frumpiness is a drag on your self-confidence and overall happiness. It’s important to remember that everyone has off days and it’s okay to sometimes not look your best because what you have is the best you can do on those days.
But, if frumpy is your PATTERN and you don’t like it- my friend, it’s time to go from frumpy to fabulous!
Here are some tips that might help:
1. Dress in clothes that aren’t super stretchy. If it feels like you could curl up under a blanket and watch a movie in your outfit, you’re dressed for comfort not boss-babe energy. Wear something more structured and throw on some shoes that say SHE LEADS.
2. Take care of your appearance with better posture and grooming. No craggy cuticles and chipped nail polish, sis! Get out of the ponytail club and take a few extra minutes to do your hair. Sit and stand up straight. Slouching is a posture of defeat.
3. Move your bod. Start some type of daily movement that is outside of your daily routine. Walking from your care to the grocery store doesn’t count. I’m talking intentional movement; walking, dancing, yoga. Just get moving.
Remember, frumpy is a state of mind and is often temporary. If it’s your pattern, boost your confidence and feel better about yourself by making small changes like these. Want more help? Send me an email!
